Being Artistic
I really admire people who can produce lovely art paintings. I think that I do not have the patience really but I am not good at doing that sort of thing. I have managed to produce some reasonable pieces of work in the past but normally I am not good. I think perhaps it does depend on the subject matter as I find some are easier to work with than others. I also think that the materials make a big difference. When I was at school I was much better at drawing and working in ink because of the finer tip. The paintbrushes were all rather big and so I was not able to control it in the same way. I was also only good if I was copying something and even then I had to make sure that I was really concentrating. If I had to do something from my imagination then I was no good. I think that I cannot picture things too well… it is not the way that my imagination works and so being able to put something on paper when you cannot hold the image in your head is a very hard thing to do.
